Replace Worn Control Arms and Parts

Whether you're restoring a classic or fixing your own ride, Bill Kay Nissan always has all the parts you need. Control arms are the hinged suspension links that connect the wheel assembly to the vehicle chassis while allowing vertical movement. These components include the arm itself plus ball joints, bushings, and mounting hardware. Properly functioning control arms maintain correct wheel alignment and allow suspension travel without binding. We stock genuine Nissan control arms and parts designed for your vehicle's specific suspension geometry.

How Control Arms Position Your Wheels

Control arms pivot on chassis-mounted bushings at one end and connect to the wheel assembly through ball joints at the other end. This design allows wheels to move up and down while maintaining proper alignment angles. Upper and lower control arms work together in double-wishbone designs, while single arms combine with struts in MacPherson configurations. The arms resist braking and acceleration forces while allowing suspension compression and extension. Your Altima and Pathfinder both use control arm designs matched to their weight and performance requirements. These components work with coil springs and dampers to create complete suspension systems. Genuine Nissan control arms use forged or cast construction that provides strength without excessive weight.

Why Control Arms and Parts Fail

Control arm bushings wear from constant flexing under load and develop cracks or tears. Ball joints deteriorate when protective boots fail and allow dirt and moisture contamination. Impact damage from severe potholes or curb strikes can bend control arms. Corrosion weakens mounting points and creates play in the suspension. Aftermarket control arms often use cheaper bushing materials that wear quickly and inferior ball joint designs. Generic replacement parts may have incorrect geometry that alters suspension alignment and handling.

When Control Arm Components Need Service

Replace control arms when you hear clunking or banging noises from the suspension during driving over bumps. Steering wander or inability to maintain alignment indicates worn bushings or ball joints. Visible cracks in bushings or torn ball joint boots require immediate replacement. If the vehicle shows uneven tire wear or pulls to one side despite alignment service, control arm wear is likely. Most control arm bushings need replacement every 70,000 to 100,000 miles while ball joints may last longer. Customers can order with confidence because of Bill Kay Nissan's friendly customer service and easy return policy.
